In our haste and the limitations of sight, we do not see the magnificence and intricacies within nature and ordinary objects.  It isn’t until we look through the lens of a camera that we can focus in on the beauty to be found within a single flower or a still life arrangement.  Furthermore, not until we try to capture these qualities through art, can we really appreciate the nuances of color, texture, light and shadow.  This is what I try achieve in my detailed paintings.
